The following report comes to us from evangelist Bernice with our team in Chicago, IL:
This past weekend, I went evangelizing in a Chicago neighborhood that has a significant gang presence and can be a dangerous area. I was about to go home, but felt I should head down a residential street first, as I always look to see if the gangs are out so I can share the Gospel with them. As I was driving by, I noticed that a lot of them were in the middle of the street. Apparently they were having a big house party, and there was some pot smoking (I could smell it). I stopped and rolled my window down, and handed one young man a crucifix. He took it, and then asked if I had another. So I parked, got out, and had a bunch of Bibles and St. Benedict crucifixes which I gave to them and they were genuinely happy about it. The joy it brought me was so intense unlike anything I’d experienced from evangelization…I was on cloud nine!
