This report comes from team leader Mark with the Eastern Market SPSE team in Detroit, Michigan:
We had five evangelists go to Eastern Market last Saturday. Frequent evangelists Mark and Steve were joined by Cathy and her two friends, Susan and Cindy.
Susan had several encounters but two conversations stand out the most. Susan offered a Rosary to a man walking and he responded with “I made a big mistake, I bought another beer today.” Susan replied with “Why don’t you invite Jesus to be here with you.” He broke down in tears and Susan led him in a prayer asking God to set him free from his addictions and substance abuse. He was very emotional and it was very clear that he was struggling with serious problems. After the prayer, I stepped in and referred him to a nearby Catholic church that offers Alcoholics Anonymous.
Susan offered a Miraculous Medal to another man, Brandon, who works at a nearby food truck. He said he is Christian but works all day every Sunday and rarely has time for church. Brandon was so thankful for the medal and the conversation, he went back to his food truck and insisted that the evangelists accept some fresh donuts as his gift. He also accepted a Rosary and Why Be Catholic pamphlet.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
