The following story comes to us from team leader Dr. Deb with our team in Owatonna, MN:
One of the most moving encounters was with Ann, who had traveled for brain surgery and was overwhelmed with anxiety. We prayed for peace, healing, and God’s presence to be with her. She was visibly touched and embraced us afterward. Later, she returned to thank us again and shared a personal story that convinced her God was sending her signs of encouragement through her grandparents.
We also met Laura, whose youngest son was preparing to leave for college. She asked for prayers that his faith would remain strong. We prayed for both mother and son and gave her a Bible for him. Laura shared that our conversation encouraged her to make her faith a greater priority again.
Near the end of the afternoon, we met Dr. Camila from Ecuador. She was excited to see a medal of Our Lady of Sorrows, a devotion close to her heart. She asked for prayers for her parents, her fiancé, and her upcoming wedding, which was only a month away. We were blessed to pray for her future marriage and wish her God’s blessings.
As we packed up and returned to the Co-Cathedral, we offered prayers of thanksgiving for all the people God had placed in our path that day. Once again, we were reminded how the Lord uses simple conversations, prayers, and sacramentals to bring hope, encouragement, and His love to those we meet on the street. God is so good.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
