The following story comes to us from team leader Nancy with our team in Gaithersburg, MD:
We’re all on a rescue mission to free those who are held captive. Molly, Tom and David were out last Saturday spreading the good news. I’m so grateful to Tom who reached out to Shawny who opened up to him that she’s in an abusive relationship. He was there to be a listening ear to hear how God wanted to minister to her. He prayed and gave her hope, direction and materials to help her make the next move. Lord, we pray that you’d give her courage and strength. Molly, I’m sure, had many encounters bringing her beautiful smile to many people.
We had another new person come and check out our team, Mary, from Beltsville. She was great and a person with many gifts to spread the good news. We were glad to see Christina who I’ve been befriending and encouraging in the faith to see she was back with her kids and going to church. May God continue to heal her. Amparo is passionate about reaching the Spanish community, and was able to connect a woman who wanted her kids to be baptized with our local church. I saw Ed, an elderly man who’s so pessimistic about life. Every time I see him he starts complaining. I’ve shared with him so many miracles that God has done in my life and he let me to pray over him for the healing of his eyes and heart. May God bring healing to his mind too.
Paula went out with Bob, David and I and had many encounters. Please pray for Cynthia who needs a job; Jayson who has never been baptized and looking for a church; Pedro – seeking whether to be a Catholic; Suma to find a faith-filled youth group and Lizzy whom Paula prayed with to forgive the people who’ve hurt her. May God touch all these people and show them how much He loves them.
I pray that this little chapter would bear much fruit for God’s kingdom and that Our Lady would protect and guide us.
StoryLast week, there seemed to be a positive view toward the Church, even from non-Catholics. We used the opportunity to encourage people to pray. So, thank you again for your prayers for…
