The following report comes to us from team leader Lucy in Boise:

Our culture still feels positive about Easter, even as its origin and meaning are becoming obscured. “Byron” and “Victoria” stopped for a Rosary for Byron. He’s a brand-new Catholic, who received all three Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. He selected a Rosary, since he hadn’t received one in OCIA. When asked how he decided to become Catholic, he said he “just started to go to Mass and got more and more interested in joining”. Victoria volunteered that she was the one who invited him to that first Mass. [Late in the session, they passed by again. This time, though, Byron didn’t seem as pleased to be identified as Catholic.] May God bless them both and keep them faithful.

A heavily tattooed, young-adult couple stopped when the woman wanted a Rosary. She said she was very familiar with the devotion. I think they each took one. Lord, lead them both to Yourself and salvation.

Another couple stopped for a Rosary. The woman said she didn’t really know anything about it. So, I described the devotion as a way to grow closer to Christ by meditating on the 20 Mysteries, that is, on stories from His life. They each chose a Rosary and accepted the booklet on how to pray it. We wished each other a Happy Easter. Lord, please draw them to use the Rosary reverently for prayer and draw them to You.

Last week, most people seemed to be in a good mood. And a surprising number of them returned my “Happy Easter” greeting, even after declining my offer of a free Rosary.

God granted downtown Boise sunny, pleasant weather. However, foot traffic remained quite light. Still, I was able to give away another 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet on how to pray it. Please pray for us. Ask God to send people to us with hearts prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes from our efforts.

The Resurrection remains as astonishing as on that first Easter Sunday. So, thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!
