The following report comes to us from team leader Janet with our team in Galveston, Texas:
Yesterday, we set up our evangelization table for another afternoon of spreading the love of Jesus Christ to others. Barbara and I were joined by Elena, Joseph and his wife, Candy. We engaged with many people but there is always one or two that stand out and this time it was our conversation with a man named Fernando. Fernando walked with a cane because of an accident that happened to him at work and he is now disabled. We talked with him and asked him if he would allow us to pray for him. He was very open to that and asked us to pray for his financial situation, his home life, the healing of his injury and that he not become depressed over this trial he is facing. He seemed genuinely moved afterwards and thanked us and told us that we were walking “in the footsteps of Jesus”. We had never been told that before and we were genuinely moved by his words. It works both ways when we go out to evangelize as we are also uplifted by the people that we meet!
Praised be Jesus Christ!
